Good health starts with good habits. Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to protect and improve your body. There are endless benefits to exercise and endless ways to achieve your exercise goals. The best part is that exercise is free and everyone can do it.
- Lower weight

- Increased life span

- Improved ability to do daily tasks, especially when older

Ideal Program: Build up slowly. Start with something simple you can manage such as low-impact walking or swimming at least every other day. Increase your activity slowly to avoid injury or heart attack. You can build up your cardio exercises with jogging, jumping jacks, biking, or a workout class. Rest when you feel weak or winded. Each time you exercise, you’ll find you can handle more.
Aim for at least a half an hour of moderate to intense cardio at least 3 times a week.
Target other muscles with simple leg lifting and stretching exercises. You can get a video, find a guided exercise show on TV, join a class, work out with friends, or even invest in a personal trainer. You should vary your exercises so you can reach different muscles.
Starting now will improve your life down the line. A study at Harvard University revealed that people who began to exercise regularly were more likely to be healthy into their 70s, regardless of their lifestyle when they began exercising.
When your body is kept in top shape, it will last you much longer. Like anything you value, regular maintenance is a must. Everyone can improve their life through exercise.
